My Ludo’s partner, Umair, has been warded in Sunway Hospital for almost 2 weeks. He was diagnosed from Aplastic Anaemia, a rare disease that only happen to 2 out of a million people. It is a condition when your bone marrow cannot functionally produce new cells to replenish blood cell. Normally we need all 3 blood cells: red blood cells (erythrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes) and platelets (trombocytes). Aplastic Anaemia sufferers have lower all of those 3 blood cells counts.

As by today, Umair doesn’t have any more platelets produced. We needed to put mask because his body resistance is way down low. His friends who happened to be my housemate, are looking and contacting his family and researching information about bone marrow transplant procedure and the medical payment. It cost alot. 300 thousand plus.

On sunday afternoon, I decided to document how I bath Zorro. I would like to show you how calm he was.

 Final attempt; a mixed-angora cat that smell as fresh as a pineapple. :p~~

To own a pet is a big responsibility. Back in my parent’s house, we always have pets to be taken care of. Right until now, we have a turtle, birds and 2 domestic old cats. Fortunately we have house maids to look after the pets, so the animals won’t starve themselves to die, eventhough they still have their hunting instinct. What I can say is, Zorro is my first pet I ever had in my flat that I, alone, myself, devote a part of my life to look after this male feline.
For almost 14 days since the day he was brought here in my flat, I’m already catching up with his antics, as well as his sassy attitudes. Despite the cuteness, the spoilness and the heaveness of his black silky coat he has, there is a downside of his that to me is quite unbearable. He likes to bite occasionally. He likes to bite off my leg and once he bit my arm until it bleeded a little. I vaguely know the reason of his sudden aggresiveness, for I know pretty well, that pet bites to seek attention. It must have been hard to be a cat while the master can’t decipher any of the cat’s slightest message. 2 days ago, Zorro did it again, he attacked my leg out from nothing. Then, to the point of I was having bad fever that time, I couldn’t handle myself and I threw anything nearby at him. He was dreadfully scared and he ran sooooo fast to the balcony and hid on the corner. Later on that evening, I felt terribly sorry for him and ashamed to myself. I felt terrible as his owner who physically abused him just because he tried to hint me his message instinctively.
I imagine myself raising my own child, with his own temper and unbelievable tantrums… would I dare to smack him hard on his head?

Zorro suddenly entered my life. He was found in apartment area ground floor. He had been miaow-ing for almost 5 days, every day and night. When Bibib found him, he was sitting on the corner suspiciously, weak and dirty. He’s a bit limp when he walks. We bathed him yesterday twice, with baby shampoo and very warm water. We gave him milk and Whiskas, which he ate it almost in rush. Poor kitty cat… Before bed, we made him a ‘cat litter tray’ for his toilet. I’m sure that Zorro is not one of  stray alley cats. He was either abandoned by his previous owner or ran away from home, because he is toilet trained (I didn’t find his bodily waste anywhere except in a litter tray) and he was castrated already. I don’t really sure which of cat breeds category he is.

Now, he is fluffy clean, happy and content.

Start from last week, I’m currently going fruity. I make fruit blend with a glass of white skim milk and also fruit flavoured yogurt. I think it’s a good idea to make up my lack of calcium, fiber and others good substance of nutrient.

The ingridients are simple. Any of your favourite fruits plus any fruit that easy to blend with and its taste is not over powering the others. My all time favourite is: banana. Why? Banana is a natural source of carbohydrate, is digested easily, fully packed of energy and add milk, you got breakfast on the go! Now, is the season of sweet mandarines, so I choke them up inside the blend. I like my blend full fruity flavoured.

I went to Eye Specialist or Ophthalmologist to check my right eye yesterday morning. I’ve been experiencing a discomfortness sore in my eye plus ultra-sensitive to light and the night before, I saw a tiny white pus at the outer circle of my cornea. I even tried to swab it with cotton bud. It didn’t  remove at all, hence it became more reddish and watery. And hell a lot of screaming, of course.

The Ophthalmologist is just down the road from my flat. I looked on the list of Eye Specialist, from Optometrist to Eye Surgeon on the Internet, to jot down their addresses and phone numbers. I needed to call and made appointment because last saturday was both weekend and public holiday, 1st of Muharam. Luckily enough the one that I’ve been looking for is nearby, so I don’t need to waste on transport money.

Eventhough, the place I supposed to go for is just one doorstep away, yet there was a ‘human error’ mystified us. First, before I went to Ophthalmologist I visited GP. This Tamil GP old dude with a mumbling English came with a diagnosis that I had corneal foreign body and needed to be removed with special equipment. His diagnosis was incorrect. (I tell you later, so read on. Swear to God, GP can be so disastrous!) Secondly, Bibib called the Ophthalmologist to reserve and he assumed that it is located on IOI Mall ground floor. (The correct one is IOI Business Park). Because of the public holiday, so the appointment was made under emergency situation and I had to be there at 8 sharp. So, as predicted, we missed it and begged the Doctor to push back on 9.30am.

Doctor Ranu, the one who examinate my eye, was graduated from UK and he speaks a really good English. He concluded that I have corneal ulcer or a typical contact lens abusal. He showed that the whitish dot on my cornea is still growing, inflame and got a hazy surrounding. It is contracted by bacteria and he said that I’m lucky that the ulcer is spotted on the outer of cornea not on the centre. Because, as the ulcer healed, the scar will remain. So, imagine if it was on the central cornea! I would have had blurry right eye vision! I would have been a one eye pirate-like person! God… Alhamdulillah. I came to this symphathetic doctor immediately.

I have another appointment on monday at 10am sharp. By then, I learn my lesson:

1. Wear prescription glasses for at least 2 weeks
2. Visit eye specialist every year at the least
3. Discard all the Saline Solution, used contact lenses as well as the cases from now
4. Practise super-duper hygienic on handling contact lenses
5. Listen well on what people say via phone call
6. Take a best care of your precious peeper. I’ve been wearing cosmetics corrective contact lenses since I was 15 years old, so I could look like a normal 20/20 sighted person. Cure mostly is expensive and there may be some price to pay, like scar for example
7. Ulcers are not only appear on the gum, but also can exist on the cornea!
8. Even you are as beautiful as Miss Jolie, save your pirate look on drama stage. One eye is not cool

This is the story of a normal acquaintence of a Lady and a Guy. Let’s say that they are in their late twenties and are working in some odd jobs. Both of them know that they love each other eventhough, no one dare to say the reason why. The relationship between the two are rough, ruggedly weather of stormy emotions, ups and downs, never been settled. Actually, they are two of a kind and they have always been bonded and rebonded by natural invisible forces. As if they are a liquid substance but from differently made of. One is water, the other is oil.

One day, the football club of the Guy’s hometown is playing and Guy really wants to catch up with his buddies to watch a long waited gig. Lady, a typical of needy woman, doesn’t want him to go all night, because Lady knows he might come so late at night or most probably, early in the morning.

“I want to see my hometown club playing. Can I borrow some bucks for transport? I’m totally broke,” Guy pleads.

“No. If you really wanted to go, you find your own way to sort it out,” Lady answers firmly.

“Yeah, I know that my buddy is willing to pay all the cost but I don’t want him to pay alot for me,” Guy says, “I only can ask you.”

“Why is that?” Lady asks.

“Because you are my girlfriend. I can say anything to you. To the boys are different,” Guy answers.

“You are willing to go far, eventhough at late night, with your buddies. But you never want to go anything farther with me,” Lady says.

“You want to go and see football with me?” Guy asks bluntly.

“No. I don’t like football,” Lady says.

Then Guy’s mobile phone rings. His buddy confirms and persuades him to go. Guy rises up from bed, prepare to go. Lady is almost exploding an outrage. She grabs the tissue box and she hurls it in great distress to the door. Then, a doll, a book, an iron ruler, a pillow. A small cushion flings and tugs the mirror down. The mirror breaks into pieces. Still after few gruesome arguments, Guy goes out the door. His mood is dreary but his buddy push him for the game. Without his notice, Lady watches them on the top of the building, disbelieved of how dense Guy is.

“Why you still go? I don’t want  you to go,” Lady phones Guy in mobile phone.

“I’m on the way by cab. We’ll talk later at home,” Guy speaks.

“Why you still go??!!” Lady bursts out.

“Don’t do this. Give me some understanding,” Guy pleads.

“I give you lots of understandings. So many times I don’t accept it but still I won’t say anything,” Lady sounds teary.

“Be cool. Nothing big is happening. We’ll talk later at home,” Guy convinces.

Few calls are made. Guy doesn’t want to change his mind. He even challenges her to come to watch the game. He knows Lady will get soft-hearted and soon forget the fight. As usual.

Lady picks up the shattered glasses of the broken mirror. Lady cleans and sweeps the floor. Some glasses still attach vulnerably to the wooden frameboard. Lady gets the piece to her left arm, test the sharpness she slices in rapidly motion.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice.

Harder she slices the glass. They bleed at her 5 attempts. Few strings of crimson shades blob againts her flesh. The wounds start to sting. Lady feels relieve because she knows the pain is real.

Her pain is real. And it escapes her from heartbroken.
